True-to-Ireland launch in Moycullen
The main launch of True-to-Ireland was held at Forge Pub in the village of Moycullen Co Galway on Friday September 20. My father and a number of other men involved in this story were born in this village while many others came from other parts of Co Galway and would have been aware of atrocities that occurred in the county during the Easter Rising and the War of Independence.
A number of my New Zealander friends came to this launch and other functions to celebrate the publication of the book in Ireland. Many stayed on and we did a tour of the places of significance to the story and had a special dinner for them, my cousins and close friends. It was a chance for both Rory Sweetman and myself to sell our respective books and chat to people who were interested in what we had achieved.
On the final day a few of us went to the magnificent Arran Islands.
